Confinement Fun!

Since this is my very last confinement period, I decided to make the best out of it and not complain about what I'm supposed to do (or what I'm not supposed to do)! 3 weeks into my confinement period, and I must admit that I am kind of enjoying it! Well who wouldn't? - Considering the fact that:

1) I don't have to do any housework or cooking (which is a luxury here in Sydney where we have gotten used to doing everything on our own without any help).
2) I get to eat delicious confinement food like vinegar pig trotters, red rice wine mee sua, XO chicken soup, etc etc. YUMMY!
3) I get to enjoy our delightful little Josiah and my 2 girls without being bogged down by household chores.
4) The weather is absolutely beautiful because it's now spring season and unlike Singapore, I don't perspire as much here. I think that makes a whole load of difference because you feel happier when there's nicer weather!

The other day, Lina came over to our house for a visit and gave Josiah 3 new pieces of clothing - 2 bodysuits and 1 long-sleeved shirt. Janelle and Janine each took 1 bodysuit and disappeared very quietly into the living room. When we found them, Janelle had already dressed her Winnie the Pooh bear in the bodysuit and Janine was in the process of dressing her Pooh bear with the other bodysuit! It was hilarious! And the 2 girls were so proud of their 'achievements' and proceeded to push their 'babies' round the house in the toy-pram and trolley!

Josiah has arrived!

Introducing the latest addition to our family - Josiah Lee Yi De. He was born at almost full-term (39 weeks and 5 days old) and is the biggest of my 3 babies!

Vital Statistics
Birth Date: 09/09/10, 10:40am
Weight: 3.72kg
Length: 51cm
Head Circumference: 35cm

Praise God for a smooth pregnancy and delivery here in Sydney! And the best part is, everything is free of charge - we did not have to pay a single cent (other than for the additional ultrasound scans that we requested for) even though I went for an elective caesarean. It was truly a joy to see Josiah coming out of the womb rosy and chubby. The midwife said he has "thunder thighs" for a newborn! He has a really loud and hearty cry and sends our hearts melting with his cute little expressions and antics. We may be biased, but we think he's the most beautiful baby boy ever!

As for me, I am feeling the effects of having a 3rd caesarean in less than 5 years (4 years 8 months to be exact). The recovery seems to be taking longer this time round and more painful. Thankfully our parents are all around to help out with the cooking, household chores and handling the kids, if not I can't imagine how we would survive!

Janelle and Janine have been absolutely adoring sisters to their little baby brother. Janelle loves to carry di-di and cuddle him, and she always coos "he's so cute!!". Janine loves to kiss and touch di-di, though we are a bit wary because she tends to forget how strong she is in comparison to a little newborn! We thank God for our family and for this new bundle of joy

"For you created my inmost being;
       you knit me together in my mother's womb.
 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
       your works are wonderful,
       I know that full well."
- Psalm 139:13-14 -
